Nobody must be filled with anything else except the idea of the opera."

All that to say, is it really better when form is easily discernible? I'm not here to argue that pieces shouldn't have form, of course, but isn't form more effective at a subconscious level?Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17384639420268689628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-471232512346545776.post-83229984243427316342011-02-18T15:08:31.115-07:002011-02-18T15:08:31.115-07:00Very fascinating post.
John, you really, really n...Very fascinating post.

John, you really, really need to come to the L'Abri conference next year. You'd love it. (And you would probably find John Hodges's lectures really interesting. ^_^)

This post seems to echo something I've been thinking for a while now. I love stories, and stories are in so, so many things, music and people, to mention a couple. If I concentrate on the stories, I love those things. (Well, I also love the sound of really good music, but, like you said, it's even better with the story. The Firebird ballet is a good example of this. ^_^)Jasper Illusianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06761403388598156041noreply@blogger.com
